Buried: Wil­son, New York.

After serv­ing in the Amer­i­can ci­vil war, Atch­in­son was or­dained a Meth­od­ist min­is­ter September 6, 1874, and served in New York and Mi­chi­gan. He was a strong ad­vo­cate of Sun­day Schools, writ­ing many hymns and songs for that ministry.
