Buried: Kirk­thorpe, West York­shire, Eng­land.

In 1850, Eliza mar­ried Rev. W. Al­der­son, chap­lain to the West Rid­ing House of Cor­rect­ion, Wake­field. It was there she wrote the ma­jor­i­ty of her hymns. Her bro­ther was com­pos­er John Bacchus Dykes.
